Cross Into The Blue

I am sure we all had different slogans upon entering the Air Force. It was Aim High when I entered the Air Force. This Friday, 24 Oct 08, my wife will retire with 20 years of service. The both of us have enjoyed sharing funny stories that have occurred in and during our military career.

One of my favorite stories is after I arrived at my first Base. Understand I was a slick sleeve and green to the Air Force world. My second day there I was helping the training staff load a pallet with mobility gear as a loadmaster instructed us. Around lunch time our Squardrons CMSGT came by to check on the progress. I stayed out of his way and listened as he grumbled about different techniqes and gear needed.

Finally the Sgt told the Chief he was sending me to lunch. The Chief looked at me and back at the Sgt and said "Lunch, he don't need no lunch, we just gave him lunch yesterday"! With that he walked off and left me wondering if I was actually going to eat that day.
