Actually, I am a stamp collector and I have been saving 1, 2, and 3 cent stamps from the post office machines for years and years. I put a 37c stamp and a lot of 1s, 2s, and 3s where necessary.

The post QM used to have to send in a change of address form. ($.42). Now the QM can change it on line. If He Knows It! The trick is to find the current address.

Do you get mail back which the PO marks as “Not Deliverable as Addressed” “Unable to Forward”? Troy brought it to my attention that if you go into e-membership QM tools then click on “Change Member Addresses”, find the member and click edit, there is a little box with red letters that says “Undeliverable Address”. You should check that box then update. It will save national wasting postage. Many times changed addresses and never noticed that box so there may be others.

VETERANS OF FOREIGN WARS

SUDBURY Post 8771 CONFIDENTIAL 2/28/2009

DEMETER”S BLUE BOOK

Chapter 17: Pages 238-41. Nominations 2d. Draft

Chapter 23. Page 305. Parliamentary Pointers

Chapter 37: p. 239 > A member has the right to nominate himself for office.

Chapter 23: p. 310 [56] > Nominations need no second.

Addenda: p. 347 > Rules pertaining to office: Right to nominate -- Right to appoint.

Elections

Chapter 17: Page 242: In all cases “Number of Votes cast” means the total number of votes cast for each individual office without regard to the number cast for any other office.
Tellers can vote in elections. Candidates or nominees can vote for themselves.
If there is no conclusive election on the first ballot voting, members who arrive late may vote on the second ballot.

Page 243: The presence of nonmembers who do not vote does not invalidate the results of an election.
If a member has not paid his dues, he may still vote unless he has been suspended from membership or unless a by-law says he may not.

Page 244: If a candidate is present when elected and does not decline, his election takes effect immediately; if he is absent and on being notified he does not decline, his election also takes effect immediately. When the election has become effective, it is too late to reconsider the vote.

Members are requested to vote. They are not required to vote.

Suggestion: A copy included in “Call of a Meeting” mailings for all members attending the March Nomination and or April Election meetings.

Jerry, Each post in District 18, Dept of Mo. VFW donates so much money through out the year for the Hospitality Room at Department Convention. The food, drinks, coffee is free to all that visit our Hospitality Room. No money is involved. District 18 QM handles everything
