Bob,
That sounds like a plan to me. As for us being the best Veterans Organization, all I have to say is HOOYAH!

Set a goal to be 100% by the end of December. With an agressive recruiting drive it is easier to obtain than most think. We can't rely on the mailouts from National to do the job for us. Personal contact with unpaid beginning in October is necessary. Are we getting too lazy to make the personal effort? We are the best Veterans organization in the free world. We do more to help Veterans than any other organization ever thought of doing. We are worth the time and effort. Good luck comrades.
All,
Thanks for the comments. I'm going to do some investigating. Since we're supposed to have two (2) National Recruiters in our Post, we should be at 100% membership. Sadly, we are not. Only 92%. That's just not right in my book....

Your State comander needs to let National know you want to become a Certified National Recruiter. I believe that personal contact and letting the community know who you are and what the VFW does for Veterans is paramount in being a successful recruiter, Use radio, tv, newsprint, church bulletins etc. to let people know you are available to assist Veterans, and their families in any way you can. Helping a Veteran obtain VA benefits almost always guarantees you a new VFW member.
Dale,
Sorry, I didn't add this before I hit the add comment button but I hope you get to attend the National Recruiter School. It could be quite interesting.
Cheerily
Joe
