Military Service History
1968: U.S. Army Basic training at Ft. McClellan, Al and AIT at Ft. Sam Houston, Tx...1968-1970: Ft. Devens, Mass...1970-1977: Walter Reed AMC, Washington, D.C....1977-1978: 121 Evac Hosp, Yang Sang, Souel, Korea...1978-1980: Fitzsimons AMC, Denver, Co...Medically retired. I was an LPN (91C20). In Korea, I was NCOIC of the Recovery Room (91C40). At Walter Reed, I assisted the Army School of Nursing (Army RN school) Instructors in teaching the students in hands-on procedures of Patient Care. I was offered the opportunity to attend ASN OCS, but turned it down. I was more interested in Patient Care and less money than Office work for more money.
Tell us about yourself
Outgoing, people person, easy going (but not a "door-mat"), easy to please. I will listen, intently, to what you have to say (who knows, I may learn something) and ask only that you give me the same courtesy (who knows, you may learn something, too). But, make no mistake, I also have a "Dark Side" that needs to be kept in check.
Interests and hobbies
Play the organ, gardening in our English-style gardens, my rescued racing Greyhound named Boots. Crafts, online gaming, puzzle mags. Getting our Post actively active in the Community, again, as it once was several years ago, by making much needed repairs to our building and upgrading it through fund-raisers and donations and increasing our active membership.
Memberships in other organizations
Life member in VFW and DAV, annual member in the American Legion. Military Consultant to the Veteran's History Project, member of Clermont Historical Society, past member of Lake County Honor Guard (served as Chaplain, Firing Line and Asst. to Sgt. of the Guard).
