"I started my service in 1957 in the Navy Reserve while still in high school. In 1962 I switched to the AF and was sent to Lowery AFB in Denver to attend B47/52 Bomb Nav. electronics school. After school was assigned to the 307th Bomb Wing in Lincoln…"
J, Thanks for the invite. When I was in the Air Force, I started out as a Radio Operator, but when we got back to the states, we got the B-47 jet bombers that didn't have radio operators, so I changed to Electronic Maint for the rest of my enlistment. Sure was a long time ago. Best wishes to you and your family. J.B.
Thanks for the invite. My first three and a half years in the Air Force I spent as a marksmanship instructor, training Security Police and Law Enforcement tech school students with the M-16 and Smith & Wesson Model 15 Combat Masterpiece revolver.
I also train Officer Training School students, Saudis, and... before the Iranian Crisis... some Iranian officers.
First I served on 'the East Side' where the basic trainees fire, then served in the Lackland Armory on the East Side, then served in the armory at Camp Bullis delivering weapons, ammo, and pyro; then finished up at the Medina Range (Lackland Annex) with the SPs and LEs.
I joined the Air Guard in 05. I'm currently with the 129th SFS at Moffett Federal Airfield in Ca. Prior to that I served 5 years in the Marines, first as an MP and later as an infantryman. How about you?
