As it stands for now, I look to attend the next DAV Chapter#2 meeeting, however I have not officially joined the VFW as of yet, even though I have been sending donations to the VFW for the last six(6)years; So just "keep me in prayer' and God Bless.

Military Service History
Entered on Active Duty in May of 1961 and served six years in the USMC, Honorable discharged in early 1967. decided to return to Active duty, joined the US ARMY in January 1967. Went to Officers Candidate School, Airborne School, Special Forces School, Language School, and then graduated from the Northern Warfare Training Center in Ft. Greeley, AK before going to scenic Vietnam.
Served two plus tours in the 5th Special Forces Group, Mike Force, B-20 & B-55; Wounded, medevaced, returned from Japan and continued my tour. Last tour was in 1970, with the 44th Arvn Rangers as the senior advisor. Never been wetter in my life in the delta or IV corps.
In July of 1971, I requested an honorable transfer to reserves to finish my college. Granted to me and I attended the University of Maryland.
Stayed in the Active Reserves, was mobilized from time to time. Finally retired and decided to enjoy some of the bennies I earned. Hey I am just as busy now as when I was in the Army.

Mission trip to the Ukraine in 2005
Jaunts to Panama, Japan, and other exotic places.

I am concerned over the number of young veterans that have failed to inquire of or join the Veterans of Foreign Wars over the last five years.

Then I started thinking about what I saw at the Post on any given meeting night.
Most of our Posts have a large share of Vietnam, Korean and some World War II Veterans.
We have the standard or formal meeting and move on through it rather quickly.
