Military Service History

Drafted 1968, US Army. Armor OCS Class 3-68. Served in Armored Cavalry and Infantry units in Hawaii, 1968-1971. Infantry Company Commander 1-22 Inf, Tuy Hoa, RVN. Joined NCARNG 1972, 196th Cav, 540th Trans Bn, 105th Engr Grp, NC Military Acadamy and 30th Engr Bde (TA). Served on active duty with the SETAF ACofS Engr in Vicenza, Italy during Desert Storm. Was assigned as the S-5 fpr the 30th Engr Bde (TA) when I retired in 1994.

Tell us about yourself

Am divorced with two daughters and work part time at Office Depot to give me something to do. The Guard retirement check sure is nice. Worked for Firestone for 10 years after returning from RVN, Managed for Avco Financial Services for 10 years, and worked as a manager for Office Max for over 14 years.

Interests and hobbies

Baseball and salt water fishing. Enjoy traveling to Italy as a part of my NCARNG duties and managed to visit several other countries as well. Love to take cruises to the Carribean and Bermuda every year. Enjoy oldies music, we call it Beach Music here in NC. Played for a Beach Music band (the Weejuns) as a keyboard player after graduating from Palm Beach High in WPB, FL in 1965.

American Legion, US Army Armor Association, Army Engineer Association and member of the the Navy Seal/UDT Museum in Ft. Pierce, FL.
