I enjoy this site for the photos of what each of us posting photos choose to portray what we hesitate to write.
It might be a younglady we have been partnered with over many years. A child, a grandchild, a dog. Evan a cat!
Makes no difference! Watching the 100 photos telling the story of who we are, what interests us i believe is the best film of Americana that exists today. Ken Burns can tell his idea of history. These pictures are what it is all about.

Kia Ora! A friend has found a dog tag belonging to Franklin S Allen, of Cumberland, Portland, Maine, in Vanuatu, in the Pacific. It has his serial number on it: 11029701. He joined the army in 1941. he was in the Air Corps and was, I think a private and 22 yrs old when he joined. I have found some records of him and there is no information that he died or was wounded. But I am not a great searcher! I found his house on google search - well, the house he lived in at the point of enlistment! Can… Continue

Just a word of admiration for those who add photos to this site. I can really feel at home with friends and comrades so many evenings just watching [full screen} people I would be most comfortable with under any circumstances. BRAVO!

I am new to VFW WebCOM Community. I have recently been searching for Halls to have my coming home party (from Afghanistan). Does anyone know any VFW Halls in the South Chicago and/or south suburb area that are nice and can hold about 90 people. The party is really a cover up for my suprise proposal to my girlfriend. I am going to have a live band and DJ there along with orderves (and obviously a dance floor or space for dancing). I made a song for her that I will perform. Its gonna be a… Continue

Noticed today that the silver bar at the bottom of my screen now tells me how many visitors are on line.
It says "My VFW Web Com I 1 on line. Cool!
Now to figure a way to invite them in to chat. Otherwise why do we have the chat thingy? I thought it was an excellent idea to have Virtual friends. Beats buying drinks in a canteen!

Another hot Sunday here in North Carolina. I am smoking some pork tenderloin on my grill. I hope it turns out. I used the recipe I always use for pork spare ribs minus cooking it in the oven. I started at 0800 this morning and hopefully it will be done by 1300. New job is going good. I hope it slows down some. I worked too hard this week and ended up sleeping 13 hours friday night into saturday. I used to be able to do that but age is catching up to me. Glad I am going to retire soon. It is… Continue
