VFW Post 6281 Metcalfe County Kentucky Honor Flight Program

I just want to ask all post commanders , to do there best to raise monies for Honor Flight before it is to late .Time is running out for our heroes WW I I Veterans . Here in Kentucky we had to cancel a flight because of lack of funds . This should never happen . We owe these Guys this .I will admit when I came home from Vietnam they did not give us the respect we should have got and we never fit in with them because we lost the war .

Network Updates

There were a few network updates that went into place overnight. The two major changes are in the "Members" listing page and in the photo upload area.



The members listing page is fairly self explanatory. Instead of the grid view of members, there is now a top-down listing with more options listed on the right-hand side to allow for friend requests, etc.

July 5th

Wonderful 4th of July. Once again I carried the National Colors for our post in the 4th of July Parade. Once again it was a lovely day to get out and celebrate the birthday of our great Nation. One thing that disturbs me is the lack of respect the youth of todays has for our flag. Not only is it the youth but some adults too. There are alot of people these days that do not stand when the National Colors pass by when we are marching in the parade. It disturbs me so much to see that. I was raised… Continue

Starting a new Chapter

A few weeks ago, My husband came home in the middle of the day completely devastated after being fired from his 8 year position with the Home Depot. A company that he had worked for while retiring from his 20 years of service in the Army and a company that he had devoted the past 8 years to tirelessly.

Where do we go from here? Back to what he knows and loves. Back to what defines him as a man, he is first and foremost a soldier and a leader.
