Happy Birthday Marines

A Veteran - whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life."That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it.

To all My Marine Corps Family and Corpsmen

Mornin to one All -- As most know tomorrow 10 Nov 2008 will be the our USMC 233rd Birthday, and as this, another…

By 1Lt. Benjamin Roberts

926th Engineer Brigade

CAMP TAJI, Iraq – The month of October certainly kept the 848th Engineer Company out of Douglas, Ga., in the spirit of the Cobra motto, “Eight-Four-Eight is taking over!”

As another month is torn from the calendar on the company commander’s desk, Capt. Israel Brown, who hails from Macon, Ga., can’t help but think of all the great things the ‘Cobras’ have been doing.

It isn’t possible to review the many facets… Continue

To those who want to disregard and destroy the faith and belief in our nation and the words of our Founding Fathers,

to you who mock, dishonor or try to destroy Our… Continue

Indianapolis survivor gets sea burial

Yokosuka, Japan -- When the submarine USS Ohio surfaced at sea and Machinist Mate 1st Class Jason Witty emerged from the hatch to look around, he saw calm, blue water under a peaceful sky -- perfect for the solemn task he was about to perform.

On the map, the Ohio was afloat in an indistinguishable expanse of the Pacific Ocean. As Witty stood on deck holding a silver pitcher, the vessel was alone.

Just like the ill-fated USS Indianapolis, 63 years earlier.
