Wonderful 4th of July. Once again I carried the National Colors for our post in the 4th of July Parade. Once again it was a lovely day to get out and celebrate the birthday of our great Nation. One thing that disturbs me is the lack of respect the youth of todays has for our flag. Not only is it the youth but some adults too. Another hot Sunday here in North Carolina. I am smoking some pork tenderloin on my grill. I hope it turns out. I used the recipe I always use for pork spare ribs minus cooking it in the oven. I started at 0800 this morning and hopefully it will be done by 1300. New job is going good. I hope it slows down some. I worked too hard this week and ended up sleeping 13 hours friday night into saturday. I used to be able to do that but age is catching up to me. Glad I am going to retire soon. It is time… Continue

Had a cookout with my Unit today, all 5 of us. Sad to see all of us go our seperate ways. This was after a wonderful morning distributin Buddy Poppies. Now it is time to relax with family. Going to smoke a ham tommorrow morning. Hope it turns out ok. I love this life. Continue

What a hard week. I was so exhausted Friday after work. I was glad to be able to sleep in. I got to finally make it to the doctors this week. I now have to attend physical therapy. I am wondering if I really should try to stay in the army or hang up my boots and dogtags and retire. Family is well and plan on spending time with the wife this weekend. Continue

Strangest thing happened today. My window on my truck broke. I can't get it fixed untill tuesday. No one seems to be working on Sunday to repair auto glass. What kind of luck do I have. All I did was close my door and the glass busted. Oh well, life goes on. Continue

Well I am going to give Blogging a shot. I just got my Life Member card in the mail yesterday. I am glad I joined. This organization has given me something to do worthwhile. I am looking forward to doing more and helping out Veterans the best way I can. Continue
