slight problem

have been voted in as chaplin.and have told post to remove pornography from mens room on walls. they said they have to vote on that.they said its been there since begining of post.3/4 want it others dont care. what would be the proper way to address this? just let it go? Iam seriously considering to tell them i will not accept the office of chaplin. please help thank you.

If the issue is graffiti, let it go. Even if you could get a vote through to clean it up, it will return hours later. If the writing on the wall is racist or targeted at a specific person, then I would raise the issue formally.

porn is mild compaired to the trash I have witnessed .. When I checked out living quarters with my 1SG I warned him I was quite liberal, unless there was a complaint or the Chaplain guided me that other members had complained to him. The VFW Posts are and should be a fun, happy experience,not one full of sexual inuendo ( as I have overheard in the canteen, which is another topic).

There are many females that are joining our ranks but we have had Ladies Auxiliaries a long long time and I am surprised that they havent protested about it in the past. I am an officer of my VFW and have filed a formal complaint over a sexual inuendo by a member that simply did not believe I was a combat Vet....nothing came of it, as I suspected. I will never accept 'old farts' to ruin my day. Accept the position, but read the VFW rule book and follow the procedure on filing formal complaint. Strong lanuage, sexual comments and jokes are offensive and should not be tolerated. if I want a naked man's picture up, it is in my private hooch.

Just do it and get with the politically correct times or else you will loose in the long run if you don't get with the times. If it's that sentimental, find a historical scrap book. Just my 2c
