I want to get active in a Little Rock, Arkansas Post...

I'm a Lifetime VFW member who wants to get active in a Post. Is there anybody out there who is active in Little Rock? If so, shoot me a note...

Sam,
I agree and that's why I like our post. Like I said we do not have a bar. We meet at the McAuley Center (affiliated w/ St Joseph's Hospital I think) and it's pretty much a senior center (which also sounds like it's right up your alley considering your business). Yes, we are meeting Friday July 10th at 0800. We have been trying to view a presentation from one of our members tour recently in Afghanistan but have had technical problems the last 2 times we were supposed to see it. Hopefully they'll get it right this time. If you come I suggest that you take Hwy 5 to the Village then "cut" through the east Village gate to save you time. Otherwise you would have to go all the way to Hwy 7 and take about 15 mins longer. I can call the gate to clear you through. I could even meet you along the way thru the Village since I live close to the way you would be coming. Let me know.

Rick,
Thanks for the invitation. I'll be honest - I'm not overly excited about joining a Post that is all about veterans getting together in the bar to smoke and drink beer. Don't get me wrong; I'm not opposed to drinking beer or hanging out and telling war stories. I just want to join an active Post and get involved.

If you meet on the second Friday, does that mean you'll be meeting on July 10th? If so, I'll try to be there.

Hi Sam,
You are welcome to join Post 10483 here in beautiful Hot Springs Village (great golf)! Consider this your invite. We are an active post (no canteen) and meet the 2nd Friday monthly at 0800 at the McAuley Center on Hwy 7 just north of the Hot Springs Village west gate (coffee & donuts). We participate in many community activities including an impressive color guard, Poppy Days fundraiser, and our Cooties make monthly visits to the Ft Roots VA Hospital & Arkansas Veterans Home to give out ice cream and put on cookouts for the residents among other activities. Please consider us as we have a great bunch of folks.
Rick
